Lake Windcrest Men’s Golf Association Meeting

Ascertainment of Quorum

Seven MGA board members were present, and a quorum was reached.  The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm.

Approval of Minutes

Reading of the minutes from the January meeting was waived.

Treasury Report

Robert Shaw provided the following updates:

  • All bill paid including
    • Men’s Senior Interclub charges for 2023
    • MGA 2022 Cup Dinner
  • Going forward – 24 hour cancellation notice for tournament fee/participation will be enforced
  • Budget for 2023 has been created
  • Tournament costs have increased and as a result, on a go-forward basis, the LWMGA board voted on and unanimously approved increasing tournament fees with one rate increase for those tournaments that include a Friday night party and a smaller rate increase for tournaments that do not have a Friday night party

MGA CupThe next tournament will be the MGA Cup on March 18th. The top 14 MGA points members will compete along with the 2 Lake Windcrest Club Pros for a total of 16 participantsDinner will be served after the 27-hole tournamentThe LWMGA will continue to promote the MGA cup to members in 2023
Member/Member TournamentThe Member/Member tournament will be held on April 15th. Sign-ups will be open through Wednesday April 12th at 5:00pm.
LWMGA MembershipCurrently at 99 members as of March 7th.
New ScorecardsThe new scorecards do not have the Pin Placement on them.  Lake Windcrest and the LWMGA will pursue several alternatives to provide the Pin Placement position on a go-forward basis, but the scorecards will not be re-printed.
Hole Assignments for CommunicationThe LWMGA board discussed the need to have a single point of contact for the LWMGA members to communicate various issues on the golf course holes – examples including lack of marking, repair needs, etc…  The LWMGA board divvied up the holes and will communicate the single point of contact for each hole so that members have an easier means of informing the club on questions and issues.
Club UpdateNew carts are expected to be delivered in the 2nd quarter of 2023.  The LWMGA board will continue to communicate updates to the LWMGA members
