MGA Match Play Qualifier 07.19.25
Time & Date: 8:30am Shotgun- Saturday July 21st, 2025.
Price: $60 + Potential Cart Fee (Includes lunch, beverages, and prize money). Entry Fee covers both Qualifier and Match Play.
Format: Match Play Qualifier tournament to determine participants in the High Handicap & Low Handicap Divisions. Divisions will be determined by the numbers of entrants. The Qualifier tournament will be net stroke play to determine match play bracket sizes and seedings. A scorecard playoff (back nine first) will break all ties for seedings. Once brackets are set, each match will have a total of two weeks to be completed. Brackets will be on display in the Clubhouse and on the MGA website (www.lwmga.com) for updated standings. Single elimination tournament.
Handicaps: Handicap Index will be set and locked for the duration of the match play bracket; starting at the Qualifier. 95% of Handicap used for the Qualifier, 100% Handicap used for the match play bracket. Players with the lower handicap play with zero strokes relative to the other player. The player with the higher handicap receives the difference between his own handicap and that of the lower handicap. Example: Player A: 9 Hdcp, Player B: 16 Hdcp. Player A would begin with zero strokes. Player B would receive 7 strokes.
Tees: Black, Gold, Blue, or White; tees will be determined by tees most played.
Competitions: Closest to the Hole on all par 3’s.
Payouts: 33% of the bracket will be paid; the number of payouts will depend on the bracket size. Payouts will be awarded through Pro Shop Credit.
Day Money: Optional $20/man day money & $10/man skins (gross & net).
Important Note – If you cannot play in the qualifier, you can still play in the Match Play. All players will be added to their respective divisions and placed as the highest seeds in the bracket.
Additional Information:
All Qualifier players will receive 100 MGA Cup Points. 25 MGA points will be awarded for each victory during the Match Play event after the Qualifier.
No-shows on day of tournament will still be charged tournament fee.
All players must ride (no walkers).
